DUXBURY, Mass. (TCD) — A mother is facing murder charges after she allegedly strangled two of her young children to death and attempted to kill a baby and then herself.
According to Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz, On Tuesday January 24, Duxbury Police received a call at 6.11pm from a man who said he had returned home and a woman in his residence had jumped out of the window. Duxbury Police and Fire Brigade arrived at the scene and transported the woman to hospital, where she is believed to be.
First responders reportedly located three children under the age of 5 in the home who were all “unconscious with obvious signs of trauma”.
A 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead. A 7-month-old boy was reportedly airlifted to a Boston hospital for treatment.
Cruz called the death an “unimaginable and senseless tragedy.”
Wednesday, January 25, Cruz announced his office found probable cause to seek an arrest warrant for Lindsay Clancy, 32, for the deaths of her children.
Clancy’s husband reportedly called the police to report his alleged suicide attempt.
WCVB-TV has identified the deceased victims like Cora Clancy and Dawson Clancy. The child who survived is Wesley Clancy.
According to Mass Live, Lindsay Clancy allegedly strangled her children to death at their Summer Street residence.
Clancy reportedly worked at Massachusetts General Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse. the hospital told MassLive in a statement, “We are shocked and saddened to learn of this unthinkable tragedy. We extend our deepest condolences to all those affected by these devastating events. »
Clancy remains hospitalized and Cruz said her condition was a “moving target,” but he did not comment on her exact status.
