ATLANTA (TCD) — Authorities have positively identified the remains of a man who was allegedly shot and then set on fire late last year.
December 13 at 10:14 a.m., Atlanta Police Department officers responded at Old Gordon Road NW and Collier Road NW regarding a “broken down person”. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased victim who had been burned and left near the timber line.
The following day, the Fulton County Medical Examiner determined the victim died of a gunshot wound and the manner of death was homicide.
According to WAGA-TV, the Fulton County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 32-year-old Nicholas Williams. Williams’ family initially filed a missing person report with Cobb County police, but then they began contacting the Atlanta Police Department because he lived there.
Williams has reportedly been missing since Dec. 12 and her car was found at LA Fitness near Atlantic Station.
